First Baptist Church in Los Banos is a Bible-centered Christian church that has welcomed people since 1947. For nearly eight decades, our congregation has gathered for worship, teaching, and community life, providing stability through seasons of change. Our legacy is simple and strong, we open God's Word, care for our neighbors, and create space where individuals and families can grow in Christ together week by week.

From verse-by-verse adult Bible study to youth programs, women's ministry, counseling, and community outreach, we keep Scripture central while caring for the whole person. Pastor Michael Neverson accepted his calling to be the Pastor for First Baptist Church of Los Banos on April 1, 2016. Pastor Neverson completed his Doctorate in Theology at the Bible Based School of Theology in Stockton, Ca. Having accepted Christ at the age of 8, he became an avid student of the Bible and enjoys teaching others. Pastor Neverson has served the Lord in various roles, as a Deacon, a youth minister, an Administrative Pastor, a Seminary instructor and as a church/ministry planter.
Pastor Neverson enjoys discussing biblical topics, spending time with his family, reading and learning, teaching the youth and meeting with various people.
On a personal note, Pastor Neverson was born in West Germany and moved to Virginia at the age of 12. He completed his degree for Bachelor of Science for Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry University in Atlanta, Ga. He served in the United States Marine Corp where he traveled to various locations in defense of others. Pastor Neverson has been married for more than 34 years to his beautiful wife, Mishelle Neverson, and they are the proud parents of 5 daughters and 1 son and have been blessed with several grandchildren.
